A Fantastic Substitute for Vanilla Extract is Toasted Vanilla Powder.
One of the best methods I've found to cut costs on your food budget is to have simple alternatives for kitchen essentials. I already use powdered egg replacers, homemade powdered sugar, rice milk, almond milk, coffee substitute, easiest coconut milk, and more.
But I've never used plain vanilla beans as a substitute for vanilla extract because I didn't really know what I was doing:)! Now that you have a new kitchen alternative in the form of this vanilla extract substitute from Naomi of Almost Bananas, you also have a fantastic new homemade gift option.
Many people bake a lot during the holidays. Vanilla is a common ingredient in baking.
There are several homemade vanilla extract recipes available, which is fantastic. To create it, I bought a lot of vanilla beans, although I'm ashamed to mention when.
Making vanilla extract has been on my to-do list for a long, but I never got around to it, and when I did, I didn't have time to let it soak for 4 weeks.
In this manner, I may quickly prepare a vanilla extract alternative. Just exquisite vanilla with a fragrant scent—no fillers or weird substances.
What to do with and where to keep this homemade vanilla powder
And there are actually a lot of ways you can utilize this vanilla powder. Even in recipes like Pumpkin Gingerbread Smoothie, Orange Walnut Cardamom Balls, or Ghee Rooibos Chai Tea that don't exactly call for it.
The little jar in the photo was filled to the brim with three beans. The container is one of those sample jam jars, but the powder may also be kept in an origami handbag. Actually, Slovakia sells all spices in what looks like envelopes.
Making a little funnel to put it in clean essential oil bottles is another option.
This vanilla powder is ideal for baking over the holidays. Simply replace each teaspoon of vanilla essence in a recipe with 1/4–1/2 teaspoon of vanilla powder.
Of course, you can always taste your recipe to verify whether there is enough vanilla and, if necessary, add additional vanilla powder.
It's also a wonderful holiday present.
You may create a meaningful and unique handcrafted present by wrapping some ribbon around it (that took about 5 min, I might add). Nuts in Honey and Origami Toys (4 toys from 1 sheet of paper!) are two more simple yet inventive Christmas gift ideas.

transform into a powder. Place inside the chosen container.
As previously stated, substitute 14 to 12 teaspoons of vanilla powder for each teaspoon of vanilla essence.
