CREAM OF VANILLA RECIPE
One of my basic joys in life is vanilla sugar. This Vanilla Sugar, which only requires two ingredients to make, is a mainstay in my cupboard. In certain cases, while making scones, muffins, cakes, or other pastries, I like to use it in place of ordinary sugar. Recently, I combined vanilla sugar and simple syrup to make ice-cold margaritas.
Actually, you may use vanilla sugar for white sugar in the majority of recipes. Whatever you are creating will get a little vanilla taste from the substitute. However, I have to admit that the scent of this Vanilla Sugar is my favorite feature. I find myself lifting the cover once or twice a week to breathe in the wonderful, heavy aroma. So straightforward but lovely. For the recipe as well as a list of some of my favorite straightforward pleasures, keep reading.
This dish is a fantastic way to use up scraps of vanilla beans or pods that have already been used. After the cream has done steeping, I like to extract the vanilla bean from it while making vanilla ice cream. I use the dried bean to make this vanilla sugar after patting it dry.
Ingredients
One vanilla bean
White sugar, two cups
Instructions
Cut each vanilla bean piece in half lengthwise after cutting it in half widthwise. Vanilla beans from vanilla pods should be scraped into a big airtight container with sugar. Add the pods, then shake to blend after tightening the cover.
